Bronze arm rings have been made since the Bronze Age. The British Bronze Age began around 2500BC. Bronze was used for a variety of tools, weapons and, of course, bodily adornments. Worn either on the wrist or upper arm, arm rings functioned as decorative jewellery, status symbols and currency.
Bronze arm rings evolved in complexity throughout the Iron Age and are strongly associated with Celtic culture. The invading Vikings also left traces of bronze jewellery, in our archaeological record.
To this day bronze is still used as a more affordable but no-less beautiful alternative to gold and silver jewellery and connects us with our ancient ancestors.
Our arm rings are made of 100% solid bronze - a mix of copper and tin. Over time, bronze will darken naturally due to oxidisation. If worn continuously, the copper content can cause temporary skin discolouration. Please be aware if you have sensitive skin, bronze may not be suitable for you.
All arm rings are made to order, so please be patient. We aim to process orders within a week but this can take up to a month during busy periods. Select a size from small to large.
Please bear in mind that our arm cuffs are slightly flexible and have some adjustability in size by gently squeezing. (other sizes not listed may be requested via email).
