Marble Mammoth Skull
A small mammoth skull. This detailed anatomical sculpture is the perfect ornament for a descendant of hunter-gatherer tribes. Come face to face with this ancient beast as your ancestors once did.
Woolly mammoths were prized during the stone age for their meat, bones, tusks and fur for tool making, warmth and survival. Though we mastered various ways of bringing down a mastodon, it was climate change that eventually dealt the final blow that lead to their extinction.
The skull is carved out of magnificently vein-patterned Isle of Skye marble, while the tusks are made from Irish bog oak dating to 3300 BC - meaning the oak tree it came from was alive alongside some of the last surviving mammoths.
Matching marble stand included.
Skull dimensions (excluding tusks): 90mm x 50mm x 40mm
