Abstract shape carved into a piece of Ashford Black Marble - which actually is not marble but a bituminous limestone found in Derbyshire, England.
Ashford Black Marble has been used since the Iron Age but was mostly quarried during the late 18th and early 19th century for the production of urns, obelisks and other decorative items.
This necklace is complete with handmade, naturally stabilised hemp rope cordage and a 5000 year old Irish bog oak toggle.
