Abstract cup and ring marks carved into a piece of green and red Lewisian Gneiss.
Cup and ring marks are found across the Atlantic coast of western Europe on the horizontal surfaces of boulders/stone outcrops. They are one of the most frequently carved motifs in prehistoric rock art.

At approximately 3 billion years old, Lewisian Gneiss is one of the oldest rocks on the planet. Around 3000 BC, Neolithic farmers on the Isle of Lewis selected large monoliths of Lewisian Gneiss to build a stone circle (Calanais Standing Stones).

This necklace is complete with handmade, naturally stabilised hemp rope cordage, pure bronze wire and a toggle made of English elm.
